Circadiant Adds 10GE Protocol, 10Gbps Differential Electrical I/O Pattern Generation/Analysis, 10 GE SFP+ Stress Generation & Test Applications and IEEE 802.3ae LR Stress Generation to Hydra Platform

Multiple new blades and applications for the versatile Hydra platform

Allentown, PA - Circadiant Systems Inc., a leader in stressed signal testing, today announced five new additions to its multi-port Hydra test platform. Circadiant is adding 10GE protocol, 10Gbps differential electrical pattern generation & analysis, SFP+ Host Board differential electrical IEEE 802.3aq stress generation, 10GE SFP+ optical transceiver test applications and IEEE802.3ae LR stressed eye generation.

Circadiant is releasing new blades for the Hydra platform; The SFPP115 10Gbps SFP+ differential electrical IEEE 802.3aq stress generation blade, the PGM117 10Gbps differential electrical pattern generator/BERT with 10GE protocol capability, and the LR112 IEEE802.3ae LR stress generation blade.  These new blades can be used separately for multi-port inline testing or combined to create the SFPP-O SFP+ module test system or the SFPP-H SFP+ Host test system. The SFPP115 blade with differential outputs emulates the impaired signals out of an SFP+ optical module enabling system vendors to test their line cards without the need for an optical module. Using the PGM117 10GE pattern generator with differential outputs, module and system vendors can easily measure WDP, RN, and the effects of channel crosstalk. The LR112 blade, adds 10GBase-LR stressed eye testing to enable module and system vendors to test for IEEE802.3ae compliance. These new capabilities enable thorough testing of 10GE components, optical modules, line cards and systems.

System manufacturers are increasing the number of 10GE ports available on a single line card, causing an increased requirement for optical and electrical interface testing. These 10GE interfaces have to support multiple reaches making the design and testing a challenge. To aid in this testing challenge the Hydra test platform now includes IEEE802.3aq LRM, 10GE SFP+ and IEEE802.3ae LR testing with full 10GE framed traffic, all in one system.

“As 10GbE manufacturing ramps to higher volumes, testing practices and efficiencies have to improve. We are working closely with our customers to deliver the functionality they need to improve test coverage”, said My Chung, Circadiant’s President and CEO. “The Hydra Platform allows us to adjust quickly to the market demands and help our customers succeed.”
